What counts as project value
Floor area (square feet). New one- and two-family homes are priced per gross square foot (finished floor area, basements, garages). All other building work, including additions, uses Table 1 based on the 'estimated value of improvements' / estimated cost; the schedule does not say how the estimate is verified.
Worked example: a $350,000 new home
- Building permit fee: 2,400 sq ft × $0.15 = $360.00
- Total before trade permits: $360.00.
