How Pasco County calculates your permit fee
The county charges a building permit fee using a fee table based on floor area, with a $45.00 minimum. Plan review is a separate charge: its own fee table (minimum $45.00). Electrical, plumbing and mechanical work gets its own permits.

What counts as project value
Floor area (square feet). Building permit fees are a $45 base fee plus a rate per square foot of habitable area or building area (the greater where they differ). Valuation (normal market value of materials and labor) is used only for permits priced by other methods and their plan examination fee.
Worked example: a $350,000 new home
- Building permit fee: $45.00 for the first 0 sq ft + $0.08 × 2,400 per sq ft over = $237.00
- Plan review fee: $45.00 for the first 0 sq ft + $0.05 × 2,400 per sq ft over = $165.00
- Technology Fee: fixed = $25.00
- Unlicensed Contractor Taskforce Surcharge: fixed = $5.00
- Total before trade permits: $432.00.
