BuildingPermitCost How Arapahoe County calculates your permit fee
The county charges a building permit fee using a fee table based on project value, with a $94.73 minimum. Plan review is a separate charge: 65% of the permit fee.

What counts as project value
Your contract or bid price. The fee page and calculator use the 'Total Project Valuation' entered by the applicant; the fee sheet does not state how valuation is determined or checked.
Worked example: a $350,000 new home
- Building permit fee: $1,490.62 for the first $100,000.00 + $11.20 × 250 per $1,000.00 over = $4,290.62
- Plan review fee: 65% of $4,290.62 = $2,788.90
- Total before trade permits: $7,079.52.
