What counts as project value

ICC Building Valuation Data table. 'Values shall be determined through the use of the most current published Building Valuation data in the publication "Building Standards" as modified for Arizona.' Alterations (commercial and residential) are valued at 20% of new construction value for the area of the alteration; commercial shell buildings at 80% of new building value; in-ground pools $200 per perimeter foot; non-habitable accessory buildings valued as a private garage.

Worked example: a $350,000 new home

  1. Building permit fee: $993.75 for the first $100,000.00 + $5.60 × 250 per $1,000.00 over = $2,393.75
  2. Plan review fee: 65% of $2,393.75 = $1,555.94
  3. Total before trade permits: $3,949.69.
