What counts as project value
ICC Building Valuation Data table. New single-family, duplex, townhouse and additions: livable area x current ICC Building Valuation Data cost per sq ft (no adjustments) + non-livable area x 50% of that cost. Remodels, accessory buildings: valuation declared by the applicant and verified by the plans examiner. Commercial new/additions use ICC BVD x building area.
Worked example: a $350,000 new home
- Building permit fee: $1,550.00 for the first $200,000.00 + $9.00 × 150 per $1,000.00 over = $2,900.00
- Technology Improvement Fee: 4% of $2,900.00 = $116.00
- Total before trade permits: $3,016.00.

- Expedited premium: when optional expedited review (super-expedited 200%); $500.00 on the standard projects.
- Permit-by-Inspection premium: when projects accepted into Permit-by-Inspection program; $100.00 on the standard projects.
