What counts as project value
Floor area (square feet). New construction and additions are priced per square foot 'under beam' (area under the roof structure); remodels are priced on the executed contract amount ($5.00 per $1,000).
Worked example: a $350,000 new home
- Building permit fee: $300.00 for the first 0 sq ft + $0.10 × 2,400 per sq ft over = $540.00
- Plan review fee: $50.00 for the first 0 sq ft + $0.01 × 2,400 per sq ft over = $74.00
- Total before trade permits: $614.00.
