How Pueblo calculates your permit fee
The city charges a building permit fee using a fee table based on project value, with a $45.00 minimum. Plan review is a separate charge: 25% of the permit fee.
The fee table
| Project value | Fee |
|---|---|
| $1 – $500 | $45.00 |
| $501 – $2,000 | $45.00 for the first $500 + $2.25 per additional $100 or fraction |
| $2,001 – $25,000 | $78.75 for the first $2,000 + $10.00 per additional $1,000 or fraction |
| $25,001 – $50,000 | $308.75 for the first $25,000 + $8.00 per additional $1,000 or fraction |
| $50,001 – $100,000 | $508.75 for the first $50,000 + $5.00 per additional $1,000 or fraction |
| $100,001 – $500,000 | $758.75 for the first $100,000 + $4.00 per additional $1,000 or fraction |
| $500,001 – $1,000,000 | $2,358.75 for the first $500,000 + $3.50 per additional $1,000 or fraction |
| Over $1,000,000 | $4,108.75 for the first $1,000,000 + $2.50 per additional $1,000 or fraction |
What counts as project value
Local valuation table. Residential permitting valuation = floor area x Table A square-foot value x Table E multiplier (e.g. finished living area $176/sq ft x 0.42; garage/covered patio/deck $72 x 0.14; unfinished basement $32 x 0.20). Alterations: area x $176 x Table D percentage (50% alteration, 80% full alteration/shell). Commercial: ICC BVD value x 1.00. The fee table (Table B) is applied to this permitting valuation, not the contract price.
Worked example: a $350,000 new home
- Building permit fee: $758.75 for the first $100,000.00 + $4.00 × 250 per $1,000.00 over = $1,758.75
- Plan review fee: 25% of $1,758.75 = $439.69
- Total before trade permits: $2,198.44.
