How Biddeford calculates your permit fee
The city charges a building permit fee using $15.00 per $1,000 of project value (a flat $0.00 below $5,000), plus a $60.00 application fee.
The fee table
$15.00 per $1,000 of project value (a flat $0.00 below $5,000), plus a $60.00 application fee.
What counts as project value
Your contract or bid price. Application form asks for 'Construction Cost of Project'; the per-$1,000 rate is applied to that stated cost. Projects valued under $5,000 pay only the $60 application fee.
Worked example: a $350,000 new home
- Building permit fee: $350,000.00 ÷ 1,000 × $15.00 = $5,250.00
- Application fee: fixed = $60.00
- Total before trade permits: $5,310.00.
