What counts as project value
Floor area (square feet). New single-family dwellings and duplexes: $0.20 per square foot of total floor area measured to the outside walls (carports, covered porches and similar structures to the outside edge of the floor or roof-line; the Fees page says 'include garage and porches'). All other construction uses the valuation scale on 'Total Construction Value'; the schedule does not say how that value is determined.
Worked example: a $350,000 new home
- Building permit fee: 2,400 sq ft × $0.20 = $480.00
- Total before trade permits: $480.00.
