How Reno calculates your permit fee
The city charges a building permit fee using a fee table based on project value, plus a $45.00 application fee, with a $26.80 minimum. Plan review is a separate charge: 65% of the permit fee.

What counts as project value
Not stated in the schedule. Valuation-based permits (residential and commercial new construction, remodel, addition and any permit not listed as EZ or flat rate) use the Permit Fee Table. The fee schedule does not say how valuation is determined.
Worked example: a $350,000 new home
- Building permit fee: $1,139.30 for the first $100,000.00 + $6.20 × 250 per $1,000.00 over = $2,689.30
- Application fee: fixed = $45.00
- Plan review fee: 65% of $2,689.30 = $1,748.05
- Permit issuance fee: fixed = $45.00
- Total before trade permits: $4,527.35.
