What counts as project value
Your contract or bid price. Residential new builds are priced per square foot (finished vs unfinished). Commercial and all remodels/rebuilds use Table B(2) by total valuation as stated in the application; "The building official may, when deemed necessary, require reasonable substantiation of valuation stated in any application for permit".
Worked example: a $350,000 new home
- Building permit fee: 2,400 sq ft × $0.38 = $912.00
- Total before trade permits: $912.00.
