How Sioux City calculates your permit fee
The city charges a building permit fee using a flat $700.00. Electrical, plumbing and mechanical work gets its own permits.
The fee table
New single family
A flat $700.00.
Residential addition/remodel
A flat $225.00.
What counts as project value
Not used. Residential building permits are flat base fees by project type (20.04.110); commercial permits are priced by total new building area in square feet (20.04.111). Valuation is not used in the code schedule. (The registry's note that the FAQ describes a valuation-based fee could not be checked: the registry FAQ URL returns 404.)
